So, been trying to get into a book series by an Irish author... the first book is available through Audible in Canada, and I have read it and thoroughly enjoyed it... the 3rd and 4th books are available through my public library...
And the 2nd book?
Not available on Audible in Canada, nor through my public library... and the only CD copy I can find at my library is full of scratched disks. I could spend $100 on a copy through amazon, but that's prohibitively expensive...
Why won't publishers just give rights to stream/download their books in any country? Wouldn't it make the author more money? Like SERIOUSLY!?!?!?
Pissed,

Do you have bookshare. And to answer your question, it's not the authors as much as the publishers that cover there asses.
What about Kindle or Ibooks??? Yeah, it would be a computer voice but better than nothing. That stinks. I hope you're able to find a copy because if you're like me, I can only imagine how nuts that's driving you. lol
I'd go mad.
You are right... I am going slightly crazy!
Hopefully the library will either order a new CD copy, a digital copy, or I find more creative ways to get the book. Bookshore is not an option, as I am in Canada and not a student.

Every country has different copyright legislation. Therefore, books aren't going to be available for download/streeming openly even if you purchase the book via the publishers website. Another suggestion if EPub fail, is perhaps borrow the print copy, and scan it yourself?
I use to do this very often with just release books, as i'm someone who can't be bother to wait for the accessible format to be out. :)
